about

These lyrics were tough to write and harder to sing. It's a song about rape, and how that violent terrible act takes power away from its victims and sends ripples out into the universe that affect everyone that loves and cares for the individual.

lyrics

She told me in whispers as I sought something to say.
Like there's words that could make this okay.
My hands grew sweat as the pretense drained from my face
And the power I was missing could never be replaced
Or put back what they did take
I held her, she shivered. She never let me in again
And we lost what was left of our innocence.
What's wrong with my gender? All we do is take and destroy
Someone tell me what changes from man to boy.
